Editorial Policy
Editorial decisions are made entirely independently of commercial relationships. A partner cannot buy a recommendation, a rating, or a position on this site. We write for the reader first.

Editorial Independence
Our editorial independence is absolute. Partners have no influence over which topics we cover, what we conclude, or how we describe risks and limitations. If a partner product has a severe limitation for a specific type of business, we will state it clearly.
Commercial modules are visually and semantically separated from editorial content, and always carry a clear disclosure before any call to action. We do not accept paid guest posts, sponsored articles, or money in exchange for a positive review. Every word on this site is commissioned and written internally.
Authorship and Experience (E-E-A-T)
All guides, reviews, and tools on Founder Finances are written by Daniel Mercer, drawing on direct, first-hand experience of running a UK small business, and subsequently peer-reviewed by external experts. We do not use AI to generate articles, nor do we employ freelance copywriters who lack practical business experience.
This dual-layer approach—lived experience combined with professional verification—ensures that our content meets the highest standards of the 'Experience', 'Expertise', 'Authoritativeness', and 'Trustworthiness' pillars of Google's E-E-A-T guidelines.
Standards and Plain English
We write in UK English for a UK audience. We aim for plain English, worked examples, and explicit assumptions. Finance is often obscured by unnecessary jargon; we believe financial clarity is a right for every business owner.
We state uncertainty rather than hiding it, and we do not present general information as personalised advice. We point to primary sources like GOV.UK rather than attempting to act as a definitive legal authority.
- No guaranteed outcomes or approval predictions
- No fake urgency, countdown timers, or pre-selected options
- No invented statistics, testimonials, or credentials
- No aggregate ratings or review scores we have not genuinely produced through testing
Review and Updating Cycle
Financial information degrades quickly. We operate a strict review cycle where every guide, tool, and review is checked for accuracy against current HMRC and FCA guidelines. Every page shows a 'last reviewed' date to provide absolute transparency on content freshness.
Commercial pages additionally show a 'last verified' date for the offer terms they display. Offer terms are stored centrally. When a campaign is paused or expires, reward-led calls to action are removed sitewide automatically to prevent users from applying for expired promotions.
