Expert Review Policy
To ensure the highest level of Expertise and Authoritativeness (E-E-A-T), where a page covers complex tax, credit, or regulated products, we seek review by a suitably qualified real person.

The Limits of Experience
Daniel Mercer writes from deep practical experience of running a business, but he is not a regulated accountant, lawyer, or financial adviser. Lived experience is incredibly valuable for practical guidance, but it is not a substitute for professional qualification when discussing complex regulatory, legal, or insolvency matters.
How Reviewers are Shown
When a page has been externally reviewed, it prominently names the reviewer, states their genuine professional qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, or FCA authorisation), and lists the exact date of the review. We link to their professional profile or firm to allow readers to verify their credentials.
Where a page has not yet been reviewed by an external expert, we say so plainly rather than implying a level of review that has not happened. Transparency about the limits of our expertise is a core component of our Trustworthiness.
Independence of Reviewers
Expert reviewers are compensated for their time at standard professional rates. They are not paid based on whether they agree with the content, and they have the absolute right to demand changes to any statement they believe is factually incorrect or legally risky.
Reviewers have no commercial stake in the partner offers displayed on the site, and their review applies only to the editorial content of the guide, not the commercial terms of any adjacent advertisement.
Current Status
As of August 2026, every core guide, product review, and financial tool on Founder Finances has been externally peer-reviewed by a qualified professional. We no longer publish guidance that has not undergone this technical verification process.
Our current review panel includes Sarah Chen (Chartered Accountant) for tax and accounting matters, and Marcus Thorne (Small Business Advisor) for operational and strategic guidance.
